What is access protection for products?
Access protection secures your products so that only verified customers can access their purchased items. This prevents the sharing of product links and your content.
When access protection is activated for a product, your customers must verify their email address using a confirmation code that is automatically sent to that address. Only after this verification can they access the product.
How can I activate access protection?
To activate access protection for a product, open the overview of your products and click the Edit button for the relevant product. Scroll down to the Product Settings section, where you will find the option Access Protection (Login Required). Check the box to activate it. Don’t forget to click Save to apply the changes to the product.
Tip: To make it as easy as possible for your customers to access their purchased products, you can also display a login link in your shop. You can find more information about this here.
What does access protection look like for customers?
When customers click the Access Product button in the order confirmation email to view their purchased product, they won’t be taken directly to the product page as usual. Instead, they will see a login page. Upon accessing this page, a confirmation code is automatically sent to the email address used for the purchase.
The code can be copied from the email into the four designated fields. By clicking Verify Code, the product page will be unlocked.
From this point, customers can access the product from the same device for 30 days without needing to re-enter the code, provided they don’t log out.
On the product page, after logging in, customers will see a menu at the top of the screen. From there, they can access All Orders in your shop or log out.
