To enable your customers to purchase your products, at least one payment provider must be linked to your Tentary account. This article explains how it all works.
What is a payment provider, and why do I need one?
To allow your customers to pay in your shop using various payment methods, we work with the payment service providers PayPal, Stripe, and Mollie.
A payment provider ensures that a transaction can be processed and that you receive your earnings afterward. To make it possible for customers to buy your products, you must therefore connect at least one payment provider to your Tentary account.
Each payment provider charges a processing fee, which depends on the transaction amount and the payment method used. This fee is deducted from the total amount after your customer has paid and before the funds are credited to your account.
For more information, including an overview of applicable fees, see the article What Fees Apply When Using Tentary?
How can I link a payment provider to my Tentary account?
To start the connection process, open your Settings, scroll to the Payments section, and click on the payment provider you wish to connect.
If you need help setting it up, see our guides for PayPal, Stripe, and Mollie configuration.
Which payment provider should I use?
We generally recommend connecting both a PayPal account and either a Stripe or Mollie account. This combination lets you offer all major payment methods in your shop.
Note: You cannot use Stripe and Mollie at the same time. Both provide nearly identical payment methods, so enabling both simultaneously would not be practical.
All payment providers work similarly. The main differences lie in their processing fees and the specific payment methods available:
PayPal

You can check if the respective payment provider is available in your country here: PayPal, Stripe, Mollie
Note: If you have linked Stripe and Mollie, you can explicitly specify which one should currently be used for your shop. To do so, open the Mollie or Stripe configuration in your Tentary account and adjust the setting Which payment provider should be used for new payments? accordingly.
How does the payment process work for my customers?
Your customers automatically see the payment methods you have activated on the checkout page. They can then choose one and enter their payment details during the purchase process. It’s not visible to them which payment provider you’re using.
Where can I find my earnings?
Your earnings from each sale are automatically credited directly to your linked PayPal, Stripe, or Mollie account. Before that, only the corresponding transaction fee is withheld by the payment provider.
You can then transfer your earnings to your bank account. Each provider has its own payout settings and schedules, which you can configure in your respective account. To view or change payout settings, log in directly to your payment provider account.
How can I see which payment provider received the payment?
Go to the Sales menu item and click on the relevant order. The payment provider used is listed in the Transaction Details section.
