Stripe Inc. is a global leader in payment processing and coordinates cooperation with financial institutions, regulatory authorities, payment networks, banks, and wallet providers. Stripe processes payments quickly and reliably in the background and is not visible to buyers.
How the Linking Works
- Open the page for configuring the Stripe payment provider in your Tentary account.
- Click the Start/continue configuration button to begin the linking process.
- You are now leaving our platform and will begin registering your Stripe account by entering your email address and clicking Continue.
- During the onboarding process, Stripe will ask for additional information, such as your mobile phone number, information about your company, personal details, and your bank account for payouts.
- In the Customer Support Details window, you can specify how your business name appears on your customers' statements or receipts.
- In the last step, you will receive an overview of the data you have entered. Check it again and, if everything is correct, send it by clicking the Done button.
- Once your Stripe account has been created, you will be redirected back to Tentary. You will now see a message saying Stripe verifies your account and the email address of your Stripe account.
- Once your Stripe account has been activated, you can either click on the Reload status button or log back into your Tentary account so that this check is carried out automatically. To view the status, open your settings and click on Stripe in the Payments section.
- Done! The status will change to Active and ready to receive payments. Your Stripe account has been created and successfully linked to your Tentary account. You can now make and receive payments via Stripe.
Note: Stripe may send you an email requesting additional documents to activate your account. For example, proof of address and proof of identity are often required. Only when this step has been completed and your Stripe account has been fully activated will the status on Tentary be updated.
Your Earnings
To view your earnings in your Stripe account, log in here and go to the Payments section. There you’ll find an overview of all your sales that were processed through Stripe.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why is so much data requested by Stripe?
Similar to any other bank, Stripe is also subject to money laundering prevention laws. These laws specifically provide for a so-called Know Your Customer (KYC for short) process, which regulates the legitimization of new customers to prevent money laundering. In many cases, these rules stipulate that proof of address and identity must be provided. More info on the KYC process at Stripe.
During onboarding, I am asked for a website, but I don't have one. What can I enter instead?
You can simply enter your Tentary Shop URL there. You can find this under the menu item Shop > Domain.
