How referral commission works
When a seller enables referral commission for their program, you can recruit other affiliates into that specific program. For every sale a person you recruited closes there, you receive an additional small commission on top, typically in the range of 1 to 5 percent.
Referral commission is paid by the seller as an additional payout. It does not reduce the commission of the person you recruited, and it does not come out of your own commission.
Important: the relationship is per program. If you recruit someone for program X and that person later also joins program Y, you only earn on their sales in program X.
Share your referral link
- Open Affiliate Hub → Affiliate programs in the sidebar
- Find the program you want to recruit someone for
- Programs with referral commission active show a Copy referral link button in the Referral link column. Programs without that button don't offer a referral commission.
- Copy the link and share it with the person you want to recruit
When the recruited person clicks the link, they land directly on the sign-up page for this program. Once they register and join the program, you're automatically recorded as their referrer.
Where to see your referrals and earnings
- Affiliate Hub → Affiliate programs: at the bottom of the page, the Affiliates you referred section lists everyone you recruited and which programs you recruited them for.
- Affiliate Hub → Sales: the Referral sales section shows all sales where you earn as a referrer, including the person who actually closed each sale.
- Affiliate Hub → Dashboard: referral sales are included in the total commission figures at the top.
Frequently asked questions
Does the referral commission reduce the recruited person's commission?
No. The recruited person receives their full regular commission. The referral commission is an additional payout from the seller.
What happens when the person I recruited joins a different program?
You earn nothing there. The link only applies to the program you originally recruited them for. If you want to earn on a different program too, you have to recruit them again separately through that program's referral link.
Do I also earn when the person I recruited buys something themselves?
No. Referral commission is only paid for actual affiliate sales the recruited person makes, not for their own purchases.
When do I receive the referral commission?
The same payout schedule as your regular commission. The respective seller decides when and how payouts happen.
Who decides whether a program offers referral commission?
Each seller. You can tell on the Affiliate programs page by whether the Referral link column shows a Copy referral link button.
How much is the referral commission?
Each seller sets this themselves, usually 1 to 5 percent or a small fixed amount per sale. You don't see the exact value directly, but you can see the actual amount in your referral sales.
