Notify the buyer
After uploading new files, a Notify buyer section appears. You can use it to inform the buyer about the new files via email:
- Optionally enter a personal message, e.g. "Here is the summary of our consultation. Feel free to reach out!"
- Click Send notification.
- The buyer receives an email with the subject New files available – [product name], containing the file names, your optional message, and a link to their download page.
Manage files
The file list shows each file's name, size, and upload date. It also displays the notification status:
- Buyer notified: In this case, the buyer was notified via email. If you entered a personal message, it will also be displayed.
- Buyer not yet notified: The file has been uploaded, but the buyer has not yet been notified.
Use the download icon to download the file yourself, or the trash icon to delete it.
What the buyer sees
On the order's download page, the buyer sees a separate section titled Personal files with the note These files are only visible to you. This section appears separately from the regular product files. The buyer can download each file individually.
FAQ
Can the buyer access the files immediately, even without a notification?
Yes. As soon as you upload a file, it's accessible via the order's download page. The notification is optional and simply lets the buyer know that new files are available.
What file types and sizes are supported?
There are no restrictions on file types. You can upload PDFs, images, videos, ZIP archives, and any other file format. The maximum file size is 5 GB per file.
Can other buyers see these files?
No. The uploaded files are only accessible to the buyer of that specific order. Other buyers of the same product will not see them.
What happens after a refund?
After a refund, the buyer loses access to the custom files, just like the regular product files.
Is this feature available on all plans?
Custom files is currently available as an Early Access feature on the Grow and Scale plans. It will be rolled out to all plans in the future.
