Your customer needs an invoice but forgot to request one at the time of purchase? In this article, we’ll show you how you can still create and send an invoice afterwards.

Open the relevant sale
Go to the Sales section and click the eye icon on the far right of the order for which you want to send an invoice retrospectively. -
Check the invoice status
If an invoice has not yet been sent, you will see this at the top of the order view under the heading Invoice. The status will show as Not requested. -
Send the invoice retrospectively
First, click the pencil icon directly next to the status. If you have entered a tax number or VAT ID in your account and we are therefore able to issue valid invoices on your behalf, an input form will appear to enter the customer’s address. The address is required in order to generate a proper invoice. -
Enter the address and create an invoice
Fill in the customer’s address in the appropriate fields. Confirm your entry by clicking Save. The invoice for this order will then be automatically created and sent to the customer.On the list of Activities at the bottom of the page, you can check whether your invoice has been sent, including the date and time.
