With Tentary, you can easily create your own affiliate program for your digital products. Invite affiliates to your program and manage commissions and payouts.
Affiliate Dashboard
On the Affiliates page in your Tentary account, you can see if your affiliate program is currently active. You will also find an overview of the total earned and current month's earned commissions of your partners there.
At the bottom of the dashboard, you will see all current partners including their status. The status indicates whether you have approved the partner for your program or not.
Set up the Affiliate Program
Before partners can sign up for your affiliate program, you need to configure and activate it. To do this, visit the following page:
Tentary > Affiliates > Settings
Then select the relevant settings for you:
- Status: Determine whether your affiliate program is currently active or inactive. The "active and public" status ensures that your program will also be automatically included if there is a public marketplace for all affiliate programs in the future.
- Automatic Approval of New Partners: Decide if you want to manually approve each new partner, or if new partners will be approved automatically
- Commission: Set the amount and type (percentage or absolute) for your commission for referrals
- Partners Can Promote: By default, partners can promote all your products, or you can select individual products.
- Information for Your Partners
- Payout Settings: Inform your partners through this setting how you pay out commissions and what data they need to provide.
Save your changes, and your affiliate program will be set up.
Invite Affiliates
Once you have set up and activated your affiliate program, you will find your unique invitation link in your affiliate dashboard. With this link, people can sign up for your affiliate program.
You can read more about how the registration works in the "Become a Partner" section below.
Manage Affiliates and Commissions
Affiliates
In your Affiliate Dashboard, you can see an overview of all your current partners. The status indicates whether the respective partner is approved for your program or not. To change the status, click on the name of the affiliate and then on the desired status.
Commissions
On the "Sales" subpage, you will find an overview of all individual sales that have resulted in commissions. You can see the time when a commission was earned, open the underlying order, and adjust the status of the commission.
The following status messages are possible:
- Accepted: The default status, indicating that the commission is valid
- In Review: If you want to review the order first and the commission should not be paid out immediately
- Rejected: The commission should not be paid out
- Paid: The commission has been marked as paid by you as part of a payout
- Invalid: The underlying order has been canceled
Note: Amount of commission
You determine the amount of commission yourself. If using a percentage, it is calculated from the gross price of the product sold. The commission is net and is paid in the currency of the sale. For subscriptions, the commission is paid per recurring payment. For installment payments, the commission is based on the total price of the product.
Payouts
On the page Affiliates > Payouts, you will find an overview of your affiliate partners and their sales.
To call up and manage the details for a specific affiliate partner, click on the Pay now action for the affiliate in question.
In the Unpaid commissions section, you will find a list of all transactions that have resulted in a commission and their details. Place a tick in the Status column for the commissions for which you would like to create an invoice and confirm the action above by clicking on the Create invoice button.
Note: We recommend waiting at least 30 days after the original sale before making payments. This basic rule should reduce the number of paid commissions that are invalidated by a refund or chargeback. You can pay out commissions at any time and set individual conditions under Affiliates > Settings, in the Information for your affiliates field.
You will then find the resulting invoice under Invoices for viewing. This invoice has already been automatically sent to your affiliate partners. The gross payment amount is also displayed there and you can mark the invoice as paid as soon as you have paid it.
If your partners have entered their PayPal e-mail address, you can make the payout semi-automatically. To do this, click on the blue PayPal Pay button. This will open the payment in your PayPal account with all the pre-filled details (amount, recipient, purpose) and you can confirm it with one click. A payment via bank transfer can only be made manually.
Note: Payment of your partners
You are responsible for the actual payment of your commissions. Even if you have connected one or more payment providers to Tentary to sell your products, we do not have access to your funds. We track commissions, create invoices and provide additional tools to make setting up your own affiliate program as easy as possible.
