Selecting a currency
When you set up your account, the choice of currency plays an important role. It determines the currency in which your sales, invoices, reports, overviews, analyses, and statistics are displayed in your dashboard.
Within a single Tentary account, the selected currency applies to all products. It is not possible to offer individual products in different currencies.
Note: Customers from countries with a different currency can still place orders. Your product prices are shown in the currency you selected and converted into their local currency during checkout using the current exchange rate. Your payment provider may charge a small conversion fee for this.
Available Currencies
You can currently choose from the following currencies for your account and shop:
- Australian Dollar (AUD)
- British Pound (GBP)
- Danish Krone (DKK)
- Euro (EUR)
- Canadian Dollar (CAD)
- Swiss Franc (CHF)
- US Dollar (USD)
Set your Currency
To set the currency for your account and shop, follow these steps:
- Open your settings and go to Billing Settings & Address.
- Scroll to the Currency section and select your preferred currency from the drop-down menu.
- Click Save changes to apply the currency to your account and shop.
Change your Currency Later
To adjust your currency at a later point, follow the same steps described in the Set Your Currency section.
If you change the currency in your account afterward, this affects several areas:
- Reports, analyses, and statistics in the dashboard: All previous earnings are converted into your new currency at the current exchange rate.
- Product prices: No automatic conversion takes place. The numeric value stays the same — only the currency symbol changes. For example, a product that previously cost 100 € will then be listed as 100 $. You can, of course, adjust the product price manually at any time.
- Invoices: Already issued invoices keep the original currency that was assigned to your account at the time of purchase.
Please note: Minor discrepancies may arise due to exchange rate fluctuations.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I offer individual products in different currencies?
No. The selected currency applies to your entire account and shop, and therefore to all of your products.
How are my Tentary transaction fees calculated when using a different currency?
Your transaction fees are collected over a billing interval and calculated proportionally. On the day of payment, they are converted into euros using the ECB daily exchange rate.
Example: If you sell products worth $1,000 and your shop’s fee rate is 2.9%, your transaction fees amount to $29.00. This amount is then converted into euros at the current daily rate and billed to you.
