To make a long story short, yes, your purchases on Tentary are secure.
When you buy a product from Tentary, sellers can only see your e-mail address and name (to help you with questions about your purchase, for example). Sellers never see your payment/credit card information.
- Payments are processed only by partners who are PCI compliant (what is PCI?).
- Payment connection is secured with TLS (what is TLS?), the more secure successor of SSL
- Payment data is not stored at Tentary, but directly at our partners. Which payment service provider is involved depends on the shop itself and your preferred payment method. There is also no intermediate storage at Tentary. We only have a virtual key to allow our partners to process your transaction once.
Payment service provider
PayPal
We work directly with PayPal for PayPal payments. If you pay for a product with the payment method PayPal, then a new window opens, which is loaded directly from paypal.com. When you enter and confirm your payment details in this window, we will only receive information from PayPal that a successful payment has been made for the product in question. Your payment details are processed securely by PayPal.
Stripe
When processing payments by credit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Klarna, eps (EUR), Ideal, and SEPA, we work with Stripe, Inc.
Stripe is a global leader for processing payments and handles coordination with financial institutions, regulators, payment networks, banks and wallet providers, among others. Stripe is similar to a bank and helps online businesses process payments.
If you pay for a product using the above payment methods, you're apparently entering some of your payment information on tentary.com. However, the form you see is embedded directly into our site from stripe.com and we (Tentary) do not have access to the information you enter. When you complete your payment, we only receive information that a successful payment has been made for that product. Your payment information is processed securely by Stripe.
Mollie
We also work with the payment service provider Mollie B.V. to process payments by credit card, bank transfer, Klarna, Apple Pay, eps (EUR), iDEAL (EUR), and TWINT (CHF).
Mollie is a Dutch company and one of the leading payment service providers in Europe. Thanks to its European headquarters, Mollie benefits from local regulations and a particularly strong focus on data protection and consumer protection in accordance with EU standards.
When you select one of the above payment methods, you appear to enter your payment information directly on tentary.com. However, the form is actually provided by mollie.com and embedded in our website. We do not have access to your data, nor is it stored on our platform. Mollie alone processes this information. Once the payment is complete, we only receive confirmation that the transaction was successful.
This means that your payment information is safe and secure at all times.
